• The following chart follows the flow of the infection through its various stages displaying both average time frames and common symptoms. 
• As can be seen, there are three main stages as well as a latent stage.  The latent stage is the phase of the infection where no symptoms show but the person remains infected. 
• At any time throughout the process, the infection can be discovered with testing
• At any time throughout the process, the infection is curable with proper treatment.
